Inktober?
Inktober, a trademarked annual event, happens every year throughout the month of October. A list of drawing prompts are provided, the rules are clearly outlined at https://inktober.com/rules, and it is both free to participate and also highly encouraged!
In 2022, Kristi Harris, Creative Professional and Co-Founder of S4lti Business, rolled up her sleeves and decided this was the year (after repeated attempts) that she was going to complete all of the prompts.. mostly on time. For anyone who knows Kristi personally, y’all should have known she’d go extra -and so she did! For your enjoyment, and a personal challenge, she created a visual story where we follow along our main character through each of the Inktober 2022 Prompts.
We hope you enjoy this side quest as much as we do!
A Word From Kristi
This is the first year I finally did it, and I am so incredibly humbled by the support I received along the way. I am primarily a watercolor artist and graphic designer so this was a bit outside of my comfort zone in the best and worst ways possible. I have always held respect for graphic novel illustrators, artists, writers, and all around creatives, and I also aspire to publish my own. This journey was just a little tiny step in that direction.
Along the way I discovered and gravitated toward a handful of other artists participating in the event, and I’d like to give credit where it’s due. There are so many talented individuals I draw inspiration from, here are a few with drastically different inking styles that I believe helped me level up my inking. Thank you for sharing your work too!
