As I pack up from this year’s Art in the Woods Studio Tour, I can’t help but feel deeply grateful — for every person who stopped by, shared a story, admired the work, or chose to take a piece home. As a Poulsbo artist these weekends are a whirlwind of conversation, connection, and creative energy — and they remind me again and again why I do this.

This year, I noticed something: times are tighter for a lot of folks. Budgets are stretched, and that’s okay. I see you. I’m endlessly thankful to everyone who still made the trip out, who spent time in my full-time-DIY-shop/temporary-gallery world of color and story, even if they were just window-shopping or soaking up inspiration. Your presence alone means more than you realize.

My mission has always been simple — to make art accessible. I believe beauty, imagination, and a little bit of wonder should belong to everyone, not just those with big budgets. That’s why I’ve continued to create a range of work across different price points — from original paintings and hand-cut pieces to prints, cards, buttons, and even tiny treasures designed to bring a spark of joy without breaking the bank.

At the same time, I’m learning to honor the practical side of being an artist. Keeping the lights on — literally and figuratively — is part of sustaining this dream. Every purchase, no matter the size, helps me keep creating, showing, and sharing the art that fills my soul. The art of finding or rebuilding the parts of myself I had to leave behind or never made room for because life happened and continues to throw curve balls.

So thank you — truly — for your kindness, your conversations, your encouragement, and your continued support. Whether you bought a print, shared my studio with a friend, or just took a moment to connect, you’re part of what makes this journey possible. Even to the group of ladies who came in snark-a-blazing — yes, I heard you — your energy finds its way back to the drafting table. I grew up rough and tumble, and believe me, I can dish it right back if you’re brave enough to say it to my face. 😉

Here’s to art that feels real, reachable, evocative, and rooted in gratitude and always with a hint of snark.
